Create a New Time Off Type

Learn how to create new time off types to include in your employee Time Off policies.

When you first set up a time off policy in Collage, the default time off types include vacation, sick leave, and lieu time. However, you may want to track additional types, such as personal wellness days, discretionary leave, or unpaid time off. This article will guide you through creating new time off types that can be added to your policies, so you can define exactly what kinds of time off your employees are entitled to and how much they receive.

Navigate to Time Off
On the menu on the left-hand side of your screen, click Time Off.

Access the Types Tab
On the Time Off page, select the Types tab at the top center of the screen. Then click the blue + Add Type button.

Create Your Time Off Type
In the Add Type pop-up:

  • Enter a name for your time off type.

  • Select either Days or Hours from the Unit dropdown.

  • Choose whether you want this time off type to be included in time tracking.

  • Once you’ve made your selections, click the blue Save button.
