Making a correction on an approved payroll

If you've hit approve but realize you need to make a correction, you have a few options.

First, consider if you've passed the approval date and time. If the deadline has not passed, you can Revert to Draft in the platform, make corrections and re-approve.

If your payroll approval deadline has passed, what to do next depends on the nature of the correction.

  • An employee is overpaid, and you want to recall their entire deposit

    • As a general rule, payroll deposits can be recalled up to 48 hours before the pay date

    • Contact payroll@collage.co to request a deposit recall

  • An employee's pay was missed (either full or partial pay)

    • You can run an off-cycle payroll and can choose from the standard 3-day pre-fund period for direct deposit, OR

    • Turn off direct deposit and Pay Manually to pay your employee via EFT or cheque

Considerations

  • Minor adjustments or small overpayments are often best addressed in the next scheduled payroll, while larger overpayments—particularly those involving employee departures—may be more appropriately resolved through a deposit recall and an off-cycle payroll.
